It’s looking like a battle for 2nd place behind Austria for these two sides and this game will play an important part in who gains the playoff spot in Group H. Bosnia are looking to make it to only their 2nd ever World Cup Finals and still has talisman Edin Dzeko up front. They have 4 wins from 6 games played so far. They were leading the group, however a 2-1 loss to Austria and conceding a last-minute equaliser when 2-1 up against Cyprus last month has put a dent in their direct qualification hopes. They will need to win this one to keep those hopes alive, and even a draw could prove problematic as Romania who are 3 points behind can improve their goal difference immensely in their final game against tiny San Marino. Romania, a regular at World Cups in the 1930s and 1990’s looked out of contention coming into this match until a 94-minute winner against Austria last month. This will give them renewed confidence and with the exciting talent Ianis Hagi the son of Gheorghe playing in midfield they will fancy their chances of gaining another win here to keep their dreams alive.

I’m not totally sure who will win this one to be honest. I’m leaning towards a draw as I think it’s going to be a tense game. Bosnia didn’t look like they could handle that against Cyprus while Romania proved their mettle against the Austrians. What I do see happening is both teams getting themselves on the scoresheet with stakes so high they are both likely to need to grab a goal from the off.
