Real Sociedad are enjoying their best spell of the season. The Basque side have won three consecutive league matches, most recently beating Malaga 5-2, which puts them fifth with 16 points. On Thursday, they also demolished Lillestrom 6-0 in the Europa League.

Levante are also coming into this game in good spirits after beating Atletico Madrid 3-1 on Wednesday. That victory ended a five-match winless run in the league and lifted them to 11th place.

I’m not interested in picking a winner here. What matters to me is how much Levante can actually produce going forward away from home, and the answer is: not much.

Luis Castro’s side can be dangerous at home, but their attacking numbers drop significantly on the road. They average just 1.25 shots on target per away game, while their overall average of 3.8 per match ranks them only 14th in the league. Ivan Romero has been their biggest threat, recording 10 shots on target so far.

However, against a Sociedad side that likes to dominate possession and push opponents deep into their own half, I don’t expect Levante to find much space. Both teams played in midweek, but Matarazzo has been rotating his squad more frequently in recent weeks, meaning several important players should be relatively fresh on Sunday.

The recent head-to-head record also favours the hosts, who won this fixture 2-0 at Anoeta last season.

Looking at the numbers, I expect Levante to manage two, perhaps three shots on target at most. That makes the under 4.5 line particularly appealing, as it gives us a decent margin for error.

Of course, there is some risk. If Sociedad rotate too heavily or take an early lead and ease off, Levante could enjoy more possession and create additional opportunities.

The odds for this selection probably won’t be particularly high, but I see it as a solid option for an accumulator or even a single bet with a 4/10 stake.
