Betting on goals

Millwall and Southampton nearly exchanged places last season, but now meet on Saturday in the same division. Millwall sit slightly higher in the table currently in 9th, to the Saints’ 11th place. Both sides are aiming to get themselves into the Premier League next term and will be targeting at least a top 6 finish. Millwall’s form in November has fallen off a cliff; they have lost 2 and drawn 2 since the start of the month, with heavy losses against both Birmingham and Portsmouth. One of the draws was at home, while the other 3 games were away. They are always a handful at the new den, which the fans always make a disconcerting place to visit for opposition players. Southampton, on the other hand, are really enjoying this month. Despite starting it with a defeat at home to Preston, they have followed it up with four straight wins. They have scored 13 goals in the process and beat Leicester comfortably last time out. Signs perhaps that they may be returning to the devastating form that led to the promotion two years ago. Aidan Armstrong has 6 goals for the Saints in the Championship and is a player to keep an eye on for a goal. Femi Azeez has managed 4 goals in the Championship for the Lions and he is the main target man they will be looking towards.

My prediction for this one is that both teams manage to find the back of the net. The Both Teams to Score YES market is sitting at just under 1.80 currently. With Millwall scoring in 5 of their last 8 home ties, there seems to be a good chance they will get one. Southampton have plenty of goals in the side, and their defence is far from impregnable, so there is plenty to indicate this is a bet worth making.
