Betting on Goals

Wolves have had a tough time of it this season, but finally grabbed some light with their first win of the season, beating West Ham 3-0 at the weekend. There seemed to be genuine joy at Molineux from that result and, while survival still looks a long way off, it showed that they might be turning a corner. This game then represents a bit of an odd one for the new(ish) manager Rob Edwards. Should he try and carry on the winning streak against weaker opponents or rest players? I think he will try and pick a team that will have enough to get them through, and sometimes the reserves are not in the same headspace as the main squad players who have been losing week in, week out! This was certainly true in the EFL Cup where they won 2 matches against Premier League opposition before narrowly losing out 4-3 to Chelsea. I’m confident they are going to pick a team strong enough to deal with the threat of Shrewsbury’s visit and keep the feel good factor going for at least another week. Shrewsbury Town are a lovely little club based in a beautiful medieval looking town on the Welsh border. They are however struggling themselves this season and currently sit only one place and 2 points above relegation out of the football league. Their league form shows no win in eight games. However, they have beaten lower league opposition twice during that run to get themselves into the hallowed 3rd round of the cup this weekend. Incredibly I can see this game being more of a distraction for them than Wolves and, considering their form in front of goal, I’m thinking this one might be low scoring. With no value on the premier league winning and, for me, this is not going to be the “shock” of the round. I’m looking at the under 3.5 goals market that is coming in at odds of 1.75 with 22Bet.
