Championship: Wrexham vs Norwich 17/01/2026

Betting on Winner
Wrexham kind of proved me right at the weekend by beating Forest in the FA Cup, though not in the 90 minutes I predicted somewhat annoyingly! They are currently on a run of 5 straight league wins and are looking for all the world like they might sneak into the Playoffs. It would be truly incredible if they can complete the run to the Premier League in 5 seasons and literally something that most computer game managers would be proud of. Watching them fly through the leagues has been really exciting and they are making the Racecourse ground a bit of a fortress in the Championship. They have gone 10 matches without a home defeat and won 6 of those games, a really healthy record. While their defence can have a few gaps in it, making a BTTS bet often a good look in any of their games, I think they should add to the wins column on Saturday! Mainly this is because Norwich, on the flip side to them, are having a pretty miserable time this term. New manager Philippe Clement has had some luck in stopping the rot since November and, realistically, the squad should be too strong to find itself in League one by the end of the season. They have 3 wins, 2 losses and a draw from their last 6 outings. Their away form is actually better than their home form over the season, and they grabbed an important win away at Queens Park Rangers in their last trip from Carrow Road. I can’t see them getting anything at the weekend though. Wrexham seem to have settled into Championship life now, and I think the odds of over 2 for them to win at home against a team in the relegation places seem too good to turn down.
