ABA League: Buducnost vs Cedevita Olimpija 11/10/2025

Buducnost enter the new season with big ambitions and a clear desire to make a step forward in every competition they participate in. After a solid campaign last year, they managed to keep the core of the team while adding several quality reinforcements. The season started with a convincing EuroCup win over the London Lions (86–59), but that victory only temporarily masked some defensive issues that soon resurfaced. Home losses to Spartak Subotica in the ABA League and Trento in the EuroCup clearly showed that there is still plenty of work ahead for the Podgorica side.
On the other hand, Cedevita Olimpija went through an almost complete roster overhaul before the new season, losing most of their key players, yet the early results give plenty of reason for optimism. Coach Zvezdan Mitrović’s team plays fluid and attractive basketball, with strong offensive potential and steadily improving defense. In their win over Manresa, they showed maturity and the ability to prevail even when their shooting wasn’t at its best. Alen Nikolić continued his excellent form from EuroBasket, while D.J. Stewart is playing his best basketball since arriving in Ljubljana.
Budućnost convincingly defeated Cedevita Olimpija in both of their meetings last season, but this time the matchup looks far more balanced. Both teams are efficient and in good offensive rhythm early in the new campaign, so an open, high-scoring game can be expected, with defenses likely taking a back seat.
