World Cup Qual: Bulgaria vs Turkey 11/10/2025

Bulgaria has been at a very low level for several years now, and its participation in the European and World Cup qualifiers is more symbolic than competitive. Once again, they seem to be out of contention early, having lost their first two matches — 0–3 to Spain at home and 0–3 to Georgia away. Before that, they were also defeated 0–4 by Greece in a friendly match.
Discontent within the team is constant, while the appointment of Aleksandar Dimitrov as head coach caused a wave of protests, as many believe he got the position purely due to political connections.
Turkey, despite the heavy 0–6 home defeat to Spain — where their performance wasn’t as bad as the score suggests — has a very strong squad with many players competing for top European clubs. They have already earned an important away win against Georgia and are the main favorites for the second spot in the group.
The gap in quality between the two teams is huge, and since Turkey needs the win, I expect them to achieve it without major difficulties.
