LNB: Le Mans vs Bourg 18/10/2025

Five-time French champions Le Mans, after a solid previous season in which they reached the domestic quarterfinals, are aiming to take a step forward this year. To that end, a respectable team has been assembled, but the start of the season has been less than ideal — they’ve already recorded four defeats. It must be said, however, that the schedule has not been kind to them, both in the domestic league and the FIBA Champions League. They are currently on a three-game losing streak, two of which came in European competition. Their most recent setback came in the Canary Islands, where they were defeated by Gran Canaria 73–68.
On the other hand, Bourg find themselves in a completely different situation. They have won five consecutive games, including three victories in the EuroCup against quality opponents — Trento, Türk Telekom, and Panionios. The Greek side was their latest victim this week in a low-scoring away match — a rarity in today’s basketball — which ended 66–56. Although Bourg are known for their fast-paced and efficient offense, they’ve proven they can also thrive in defense-oriented contests.
Form, momentum, and quality are clearly on the visitors’ side. An additional, though not insignificant, factor is the fatigue of the home team, who played their previous game at one of Europe’s most logistically demanding away venues. Bourg also played on the road but will have more time to rest and prepare.
If they perform up to their potential, the visitors’ victory should not be in doubt.
