If not for last season’s deep run in the Conference League (reaching the semifinals), Djurgarden could have been in the title fight. Essentially, they had no real break or proper preseason, and this was evident especially in the first part of the Swedish campaign, where they also had constant key absences.

However, they have clearly improved since the June break and, having recovered lost ground, are now back in the race for a European spot. They are unbeaten in their last ten matches, coming off a huge away win at Malmo, and against an opponent of their level, who has already built a cushion from the relegation battle, Djurgarden are the clear favorite for the win.
