Champions League Qual: Malmo vs RFS 30/07/2025
Betting on Goals
This is one of several second-leg matches in the Champions League second qualifying round where the winner of the tie is more or less already known.
Swedish side Malmö did most of the work in the first leg, securing a convincing 4–1 away win in Latvia, so the return leg in Sweden is expected to be little more than a formality.
The early start of the Swedish league compared to other national competitions often gives teams from this country an edge, as it allows them to begin European qualifiers in full competitive form.
Malmö’s strong domestic form in recent weeks has been evident on the European stage as well. First, they secured a comfortable aggregate win (6–2) over Georgian side Iberia 1999, and then followed it up with a routine 4–1 win in the first leg against RFS.
Why could we see goals here?
From the very start of the first leg, Malmö took control and had a two-goal lead within the first 35 minutes. They increased that lead by full time, which gives them a calm return leg on home turf. A similar scenario is expected in the second leg, where the home team should continue their streak of high-scoring matches in which they often score three or more goals. I also expect the visitors to possibly contribute with at least one goal in a potential goal fest.
At least three goals in the match seems like a safe bet, while the more adventurous can try for even more.
