What Makes Julie an Expert?
I began matched betting for fun twenty years ago, as I wanted to fund a trip to New York after graduating from university. As part of that process, I gained a wide knowledge of UK-based betting sites and their promotional offerings, opening accounts with over 50 different bookmakers and actively betting with them. This experience covers both sports betting and casino gaming. As a result, I gained a strong understanding of different bonus types, how to claim them, understand what the (sometimes convoluted) terms and conditions mean, how to meet those terms and conditions successfully and of course talking to customer services and navigating withdrawal issues.
This interest, knowledge and experience led to me becoming a shareholder in ProPunter Ltd, whose main website, The Gambling Times, participated fully in the affiliate arm of the gambling industry for many years. This enabled me to gain a greater understanding of the affiliate aspect of the betting industry, as I was involved in some of the accounting aspects of the site, having direct contact with affiliate programs and invoicing them accordingly.
Following my undergraduate degree (and that trip to New York!) I trained as a primary school teacher. Alongside my teaching responsibilities I completed a Masters degree, both of which solidified my grammatical knowledge and ability to write using different styles as necessary. After enjoying a successful teaching career, I left to raise a family. Once my children started primary school in 2022, I began my work as a freelance online content writer under the umbrella of Tirasleen Ltd. I have been enjoying this role for the past four years, increasing my knowledge of various sports, betting sites and affiliate programs.
