The history of WWE

Length of the match - Usually grouped into five minute intervals you can sometimes bet on how long a match will last, either 0 - 5 minutes, 5 - 10 minutes, 10 - 15 minutes etc, etc. It would in theory be simple for a bookmaker to offer under/over a set time, for example, will a mat last over/under 18 minutes. During our research we did not see this market but it is likely that around large Wrestling events a bookmaker will offer it.
Royal Rumble Final 5 - A specific bet to the Royal Rumble, which is a feature event in the WWE calendar and uniquely involves 30 wrestlers fighting in effectively a tournament. You can of course bet on who will be the outright winner but we have also seen in the past the option to bet on whether a wrestler will make it to the final five, so it is the equivalent of an each-way bet in effect.

What are the most popular types of WWE bets?

There are only really two types of bet that can be used when wagering on a WWE match, and these are either a “Single” or an “Accumulator”.

Single Bets - These are the simplest and the most common type of bet. You simply predict one thing to happen. It can be anything, such as who will win the match, or how the match will be won, or how long the match will last. What you are betting on does not matter, what is important is that you are betting on just one variable, and if this happens, then you win. If it does not, then you lose. It is as simple as that.
An Accumulator - Slightly more complicated than a single bet is that of an accumulator bet, which can also be known as a “Multiple” bet. Here you are making more than one prediction, again you can predict anything you want to happen, but the important thing is that there is more than one thing to bet on. With an accumulator bet you must have all bets win, for the bet to pay you a return. You can have four selections and have three win, but if the forth does not then you lose everything. The reason Accumulator bets are popular though is the amount you can win is disproportionately higher than placing single bets, because the winnings of each bet rolls over onto the next, massively increasing the payout.

For example: If you place 4 single bets of $10 at odds of 2, then your total stake is $40 and if all of them win you have $40 profit (4x $10). However if you place those same four bets into an accumulator and bet $40 on that, then your profit would be $600! (($40 x 2, x2, x2, x2) - $40).
A profit of $600 is a lot more than $40, for the same stake and the same four bets winning, and this is why Accas are so popular with some people.
