The Gambling Ordinance is the main act governing local rules and regulations in Hong Kong. It outlines the legal framework for various gambling activities.
As per Chapter 148 of the legislation,
- The government authorizes certain forms of gambling, such as football betting, horse racing, and the Mark Six lottery. However, such activities are operated by licensed organizations under strict government supervision.
- As long as social gambling does not cause any trouble or harm to others, it is tolerated.
- All other forms of gambling are not supervised by the ordinance, including casino gambling, online gambling, and telephone betting. It also includes casino in Hong Kong without verification.
