Betting on Goals
Manolo Jimenez started his tenure at Aris with a winning streak. In the four matches he has been on the bench, he recorded four wins by a single goal, three of them 1-0 and one 2-1 against Atromitos, who play openly. The conservative approach is a trademark of the Spaniard and fits well with Aris’ current condition, as the team has not yet gelled and struggles to create chances easily.
Panserraikos are confirming the market’s expectations that had them as the main relegation candidate. They have taken only one point from their four league games (scoring just once) and were eliminated from the Cup by Kavala.
Against stronger opponents, however, they play very defensively. They showed it in their last two away games: against Olympiakos they held 0-0 for a half (until being reduced to ten men in the 35’ and collapsing at the end), and against AEK they lost 2-0. Aris are indeed the heavy favorite, but it is unlikely the score will go high.
