Aston Villa have started this season in disarray in front of goal, managing only 2 goals in 6 games so far and have yet to record a win. In fact when Harvey Elliott scored against Brentford in the League Cup they were the last team to score in the top 7 tiers of English football! Compared to the heights of the last couple of seasons where they starred in the Champions League manager Uneri Emery seems to be enduring a tough 3rd season in charge here. It doesn’t seem possible that this incredible run of bad form can continue they still have their main strikers from last season in Watkins and Bailey and new 26 million pound signing Evann Guessand must start making an impact soon. Bologna have had a mixed start to the season with 2 wins and 2 defeats. They have the excellent Riccardo Orslolini leading the line and he looks a good bet for a Bologna goalscorer. They are in the Europa League after a Coppa Italia win last season having also dropped down from a Champions League spot the season before like Aston Villa. In fact the two teams met last season at the same stage with Villa securing a comfortable 2-0 win. Something tells me they are going to be up for this again and I’m backing them to do so again here. My feeling is a btts no is also on the cards as neither team scores or concedes that many but stick to a Villa win as your main bet and back them to turn things around Thursday.
