EuroLeague: Bayern vs ASVEL 26/03/2026

After a poor performance against Zalgiris, Obst could find much more space against an energy-drained ASVEL and use this as an ideal opportunity to regain his shooting form.

Bayern were defeated in Kaunas on Tuesday (78–71), marking their 20th loss of the season. The Bavarian side had a very weak offensive outing, and one of the biggest disappointments was their top scorer, Andreas Obst. The player who recently signed a new contract and became the highest-paid in the club’s history managed just 2 points in 21 minutes on the court, hitting only one of his seven field goal attempts. Notably, he attempted just two three-pointers, which clearly shows how well he was defended and how much focus the Zalgiris defense placed on him.
Tonight, he should find it much easier to get his shots off. Bayern host ASVEL at the SAP Garden, the weakest team in the competition, who played an exhausting game in Belgrade against Partizan just two days ago. The physical toll was significant, so it’s realistic to expect them not to match that same level of energy in Munich. This could lead to lapses in defensive focus, and that’s exactly where Obst thrives as one of the most lethal shooters in the competition. With plenty of plays designed for him, and his willingness to shoot instantly, whether in transition or right after an offensive rebound, he remains a constant threat. He hasn’t been at his usual level in the last three EuroLeague games, but ASVEL looks like the perfect opponent for a bounce-back and a stronger scoring performance.
