Newly promoted Burnley are clear favorites for relegation according to the market, seen as lacking quality to compete at this level. In theory, they should rely on toughness and defensive organization, but their first showings were not bad in attack either. Possibly the many transfers have changed their character.

They have scored four goals in their first three league matches (plus two in the Cup), and they know their survival will not depend on matches against this caliber of opponent. At home, they can cause problems for Liverpool’s shaky defense, and I expect them to contribute to the scoring. Liverpool are, of course, heavy favorites and unlikely to miss the win.

However, after the break (with many players away on international duty) and with a Champions League match ahead, it will not be easy to reach top performance. Based on their squad and approach, they rarely keep clean sheets in such fixtures, and with the away win priced at 1.35, combining it with BTTS to approach 3.00 looks worth the risk.
