Slovenian side Celje made a good impression in Europe last season and is aiming for another solid run. They’re a team with clear attacking strengths but plenty of defensive issues, often involved in high-scoring games in European competition. This season, they’ve already had two 3–2 results against Sabah from Azerbaijan (one loss, one win), advancing after extra time with a 3–3 aggregate. In the league, they’re also coming off a 2–1 away win against Maribor.

AEK Larnaca has built a strong team in recent years and can cope with the open style of play expected from the hosts, even if they don’t have many competitive matches under their belt yet. They have quality in attack and the tools to respond.
