Cluj and Dubai will meet for the first time in the ABA League. The Romanian representative has made a very good impression in its debut season in the regional competition and currently sits third in Group A with a record of nine wins and four losses. Last week, they saw their four-game winning streak come to an end with an overtime loss away to Igokea in Laktaši (114–108). Cluj squandered a nine-point lead in the final quarter of that game, but it is a defeat that should not seriously endanger their position in the standings.

On the other side, Dubai have looked almost flawless so far. They are the group leaders with a perfect 12–0 record and, up to this point in the competition, have not faced an opponent capable of seriously threatening them. It will be interesting to see how they cope with the highly team-oriented and aggressive style of basketball played by the hosts.

Cluj are the fastest-paced team in the entire league and by far the most efficient offensive side in the ABA League, averaging as many as 94 points per game. From round to round, they continue to play high-scoring games both in the ABA League and the EuroCup, so I expect something similar in the clash with Dubai, who possess an extremely high-quality roster capable of matching that style of basketball.
