Champions League Qual: Crvena Zvezda vs Pafos 19/08/2025
Betting on Goals
Crvena Zvezda finished last season ranked 29th in the Champions League, with wins against Young Boys and Stuttgart, and now they are on track to immediately return to Europe’s elite after eliminating Lech Poznan in the 3rd qualifying round. Vladan Milojević has proven himself in recent seasons as a master of these qualification matches, and with him, Crvena Zvezda rarely misses out on the group stages of European competitions.
The opponent is a relatively new name – Pafos. Cypriot champions often change, and Pafos is one of the teams that has broken through only in recent years. The squad’s total value is around €20 million, and they demonstrated their quality by eliminating Maccabi Tel Aviv and Dynamo Kyiv.
A Tough Match With Few Chances
If we look at all of Pafos’ matches so far in the Champions League qualifiers, not once has there been more than 2 goals scored. Interestingly, even before that, when they played against Orlando and Leyton Orient, both games also ended with no more than two goals. Crvena Zvezda will establish control of the game here, but I expect Pafos to be very well organized tactically, aiming for at least a draw that would allow them to dictate terms at home.
