Cyprus vs Austria – Prediction and Odds 15/11/2025

Cyprus vs Austria – Can Austria Complete Qualification?
Austria has started their qualifying campaign at full speed, winning 5 of their 6 games so far. and now sit top of the group after beating 2nd placed, Bosnia, away from home. With just 2 games to go their qualification for the World Cup is entirely in their own hands. Averaging over two goals a game and only conceding every other game, they will look to continue this winning form against Cyprus, ranked 128th in the world, over 100 places lower than Austria, who are ranked 22nd
Cyprus have won only two from seven games and that was both against San Marino ranked 210th of 210 countries in the world rankings. Their chances of a qualifying spot are now over. This hasn’t come as a great shock, as Cyprus has never managed to qualify for a major tournament. To their credit, unlike many teams around them with a similar ranking, they do have an ok defence. In 2025, they have conceded no more than two goals per game; unfortunately, however, they haven’t scored more than two goals in a game against anyone other hte the San Marinese, which leads to a lot of close games but ultimately draws and defeats. Day: Saturday 15th Novemeber
 Time: 17:00
 Stadium: Alphamega Stadium Limassol Cyprus
Tournament: World Cup Qualifiers- Europe Group H
The teams have already played a match in this campaign, with Austria winning at home 1-0.
Austria has a fixture against Bosnia three days after this meeting with Cyprus, and a defeat against Bosnia could mean the league is decided by goal difference, so they will be looking to improve on the 1-0 victory they managed against Cyprus in September.
The head-to-head record between the teams also doesn’t look good for Cyprus. In the 8 previous meetings, Austria has won 6 of them, while Cyprus has won only once and drawn once.
Cyprus – Can they spoil Austria’s 100% winning start?
Cyprus will be looking to overcome the odds and see if they can’t snatch a draw, something they nearly managed in September, this time at Home, where all of their points have come from so far in the group. They will be hoping to see if they can’t get at least another point. Victories against San Marino and a recent draw against Romania will give them some confidence that it might be possible. In our Cyprus vs Austria prediction we have taken that into account.
Austria- Will they get yet another win?
The mood in the Austrian camp will still be at its very highest despite a surprise 1-0 loss in the 95 minute last time out away in Romania. Their oopening 5 game 100% winning start and already beating Cyprus once in the campaign means they will believe they can do it again. Recent away wins in San Marino and Romania will only add to the belief that they can add another win in their attempt to qualify for their first World Cup since 1998.
Cyprus vs Austria – Possible lineups
Cyprus
Cyprus are unlikely to change from their normal 4-2-3-1 Formation, which they have used throughout the campaign. Much pressure will be on Loannis Pittas to add to the two goals he’s scored in the campaign so far.

Austria
Austria is unlikely to change the formation that has won them all the games in the group so far. The standard 4-4-2 seems to be working well for them. So the player line-up is unlikely to change. Marcel Sabitzer will be looking to add to his goal tally scoring three goals in the last 4 games.

Prediction Cyprus vs Austria
All the evidence suggests that this is the only way this game can go. Not only unbeaten but having won every game in the campaign so far suggests Austria will continue this against Cyprus, ranked over 100 places behind them in the world rankings.
Although Cyprus managed a win and a draw earlier in the campaign, these were not against sides of the same quality as Austria.
With Bosnia coming up next for Austria in a few days, a crucial game to decide the group winners, I don’t believe Austria will rest players. A big victory against Cyprus would mean anything other than a massive defeat to Bosnia would see them win the group. So my Cyprus vs Austria prediction is for an Austria win.
The odds on Austria to win will be between 1.45 and 1.65 and anything at the top of this range or above is a good value bet.
