Degerfors returned to the top flight this season, made some solid transfers, and started the year with survival as their only goal. At the midpoint of the season, they sit 13th — the relegation playoff spot — just one point above second-bottom Oster.
Their promising start didn’t last, and the team is now on a sharp decline. They haven’t won since mid-May (ironically, away against Norrkoping), and since then have suffered seven consecutive defeats. The league break did them no favors — they’ve looked even worse since, recording four losses with a 1–14 goal difference.

Norrkoping is not the strong side of previous years but is managing to stay clear of the relegation fight — currently six points above the drop zone. They’re not a team you can fully trust, but they were solid in their last outing, beating Varnamo 3–1.

Given Degerfors’ current form, they don’t deserve to be favorites in this match. Norrkoping creates chances easily, and against by far the worst defense in the league, they have a solid chance to get a result.
