Can England continue their excellent form?

England face Fiji in the second of their matches in the Quilter Nations Series at Allianz Stadium Twickenham. England have had an excellent 2025, winning eight consecutive games since February. They also have a great record against upcoming opponents Fiji, although the Pacific Nations Cup Champions will be full of confidence heading into this one. Read on to find our England v Fiji prediction.

  • Day: Saturday 8th November
  • Time: 5:40 pm local time
  • Stadium: Allianz Stadium Twickenham
  • Title / Organisation: Quilter Nations Series

Both sides head into this Quilter Nations Series fixture in good form. England have only been beaten once this year, coming at the very start of 2025 with defeat to Ireland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. Since then, though, England have won every match and will be looking to continue that form on Saturday.

Fiji, though, are in great form themselves. September saw Fiji beat Japan in the Final of the Pacific Nations Cup. It’s a tournament the Fijians have dominated, with this title their seventh Pacific Nations Cup win in total.

England have dominated this fixture. These two sides have faced each other on nine previous occasions, with England winning eight of them. The sole Fiji win did come fairly recently, though, with a 30-22 victory in August 2023.

However, as exciting and as dangerous as Fiji can be, it is difficult to see how they can overcome Steve Borthwick’s side. To develop our England v Fiji rugby union prediction, we’ve analysed the recent form of both sides, as well as their head to head record.

What is the latest team news?

Another aspect we’ve considered for our England v Fiji rugby union prediction is team news. Below, you’ll find the latest team news for both sides as we head into the second week of the Quilter Nations Series.

England – Expecting a Strong Squad

We expect Steve Borthwick to start with a similar 15 who faced Australia in the first fixture of the 2025 Quilter Nations series. England will field a strong side, one with a hugely strong work ethic yet still capable of moments of magic and excitement. Captain Maro Itoje will continue, alongside the Northampton Saints trio of Tommy Freeman, Fraser Dingwell and Alex Mitchell.

Borthwick might opt for further experience in the starting line up, though, with Tom Curry and Luke Cowan-Dickie of Sale Sharks both pushing for starts. England might be tempted to mix it up a little bit, with tougher fixtures to come.

Fiji – Injury Concerns for their First Game

This fixture represents Fiji’s first outing in the Quilter Nations Series. They’re suffering with injury problems, though, with the trio of Iosefa Masi, Lekima Tagitagivalu and Ponipate Loganimasi all missing from the Autumn Internationals.

Fiji still have a decent squad to choose from, but it certainly lacks the quality of their upcoming opponents. Joji Nasova, Setareki Tuicuvu and Kitione Salawa will all be pushing for starts in this one.

The difference in quality between these two sides has been a factor we’ve considered when developing our England vs Fiji rugby union predictions.

Prediction for the Quilter Nations Series – England v Fiji

For our England vs Fiji rugby union betting tips, it’s very difficult to see anything other than an England win in this one. We’re expecting a comfortable victory, too. Fiji may be in good form, and their recent Pacific Nations Cup win certainly sees them head into the Quilter Nations Series brimming with confidence, but England are a completely different proposition to the teams they faced in that competition.

The head to head record heavily favours England, too. Fiji have only managed to win one of their previous nine meetings with the English side, with the latter definitely having the upper hand in almost every meeting between the two teams. We expect that to continue in this one.

Odds on the straight England win don’t present any betting value whatsoever. Instead, our England vs Fiji rugby union prediction for the Quilter Nations Series is England to win by 10 or more points.
