Europa League Qual: Hajduk Split vs Zira 31/07/2025
Betting on Goals
Hajduk Split is coming off yet another disappointing season, having failed to win the Croatian championship for the 20th consecutive year. Despite spending a good portion of the season at the top of the table, they ultimately had to settle for third place. That result only earned them a spot in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers. In the first leg in Azerbaijan against Zira, they played to a 1-1 draw. After trailing at halftime, Hajduk managed to bounce back in the second half and now heads into the return leg in Split with significantly better chances.
A Cautious Match
Hajduk’s rather lackluster performance in the first leg doesn’t give them much reason for optimism in these qualifiers. Over the summer, they lost several key players (Raktić, Prpić, Trajkovski, Vuskovic), and so far, they haven’t managed to adequately replace them. Although the club brought in Ante Rebić in the meantime, he will not be available for this match.
Bookmakers see Hajduk as heavy favorites for the return leg, but I wouldn’t be confident in predicting their win. Their attacking play looked toothless and disjointed during pre-season and in the first leg against Zira, so I expect a hard-fought match with few goal-scoring opportunities.
