Premier League: Everton vs Aston Villa 13/09/2025

With Moyes on the bench from the start, a new stadium, and solid transfer reinforcements, Everton began the season with ambitions: to stay far from the relegation battle and push for a top-half finish.
In the league opener they were poor, losing 1-0 away to Leeds (from a questionable penalty in the 84th minute). Since then, three consecutive wins followed (two in the league and one in the cup), boosting morale and confidence. With Grealish leading the way, providing four assists in two Premier League starts, they are capable of extending their streak against an opponent still searching for rhythm.
Aston Villa have quality players (despite not strengthening significantly in the transfer window), a very good coach, and high ambitions, but their season has started disappointingly. They have taken only one point from their first three matches without scoring a goal. Some may argue they created chances (2.5 xG in those games), but that figure is still the second-worst in the league so far. The international break may help, but many of their internationals were away and had extra fatigue.
