Germany gave their fans an unpleasant surprise at the start of the World Cup qualifiers. Julian Nagelsmann’s men were defeated away to Slovakia 2–0 and will now be looking for redemption on home soil. Unlike them, Northern Ireland were successful in their opening match with a 3–1 win over Liechtenstein. The Irish scored their goals at the start of the second half, creating a good introduction for the matches ahead.

At this moment, the Germans are far from the top tier of European and world football in terms of quality. An additional obstacle is the absence of several key players due to injuries, but despite all that, I expect them to react after the unpleasant defeat, regroup, and show their strength against the opponent. Northern Ireland do not have good memories from their encounters with Germany, and I don’t believe they will enjoy themselves in Cologne on Sunday either.

I expect domination from the hosts right from the start of the match and at least three goals in the visitors’ net.
