NBA League: Houston Rockets vs Phoenix Suns 05/12/2025

Who Will Hit More Threes?
Houston has been fantastic this season when it comes to three-point shooting. Last year they were somewhere in the middle of the league, and now they are at the very top with around 42 percent from deep. Reed Sheppard and Kevin Durant are hitting shots with ease — give them an open look and it is basically going in. When they get set and shoot in rhythm, their accuracy goes up to around 47 percent, which is crazy.
On the other hand, Phoenix has not been in great form from three for a while now. In their last 20 games, they are shooting around 32–34 percent from long range, and it is clear they are struggling, especially on shots off the dribble or coming off screens. Yes, they have hit around ten threes in recent games, but the overall percentage still is not impressive — it has been an issue for quite some time.
Houston usually slows the pace at home, but it suits them perfectly. They control the game, limit easy looks for opponents, especially from the corners, and their perimeter defense is one of the better ones in the league. With Durant and Sengun both in good form, it is clear they currently have the edge.
So I honestly expect the Rockets to hit more threes tonight — they are in better rhythm, more confident, and Phoenix has not shown that they can keep up from long range.
