They have no realistic chances to progress in the Cup and their only motivation comes from the name of their opponent.

The win matters and they are expected to get it. However, winning by five goals to cover the four goal handicap does not seem very likely.

Secondly because a five goal victory would place Panathinaikos second in the Cup standings, potentially leading to a quarterfinal clash with PAOK. A win by three goals places them third and sets up a matchup with OFI.
