Betting on Goals

Two teams, relatively comfortable in the standings and in good form, meet for the 22nd round of the Premier League.

Leeds have managed to build a safety cushion away from the relegation zone, as before the defeat at Newcastle (where they suffered a late turnaround) they were unbeaten for seven matches. Midweek they also progressed in the cup, playing with many reserves, where they themselves completed a comeback against Derby. Six of their last seven matches ended with both teams scoring (four of them also over 2.5 goals), with their favorite score being 1-1.

Fulham have bigger ambitions than the hosts, chasing a European spot, and come from excellent results with a win over Chelsea and a draw against Liverpool. Midweek they also advanced in the cup, again with a comeback, against Middlesbrough. They are on an unbeaten run, scoring consistently, and away from home they do not hide.

Looking at the head to head history, we see high scoring games, and I expect another entertaining match this time as well. Both teams show they can score, but at the same time they concede goals. Recent statistics indicate that they can respond if they concede, but also have weaknesses in holding a lead.
