Meanwhile, Bilbao will be looking to move up the La Liga table into the qualification zone for the UEFA Champions League and Europa League. 🏆 TournamentLa Liga 2025/26 Season

Athletic Club had a strong start to their 2025/26 La Liga season, winning their first three matches. However, things have been a bit of a mixed bag for them since then and they are just outside the qualification zone that would allow them to compete on the European stage, so they have everything to play for in this match. No doubt they are hoping that this game against Levante will give them the opportunity to start another winning run of matches.

Levante, on the other hand, are not having a particularly good opening to their 2025/26 La Liga season. Currently, they are languishing in the relegation zone having failed to gain more than one point in the past four matches. In fact, they haven’t won a home game at all this season, so it is unclear as to whether being on their home turn will make much of a difference to the outcome. One thing is for sure though; Levante need to gain points from this match if they want to stand any hope of elevating themselves from the relegation zone.

Levante – Hoping to avoid a return to the Segunda Division

Despite being Segunda Division Champions at the end of last season, Levante’s promotion to La Liga is not going as they might have hoped. Levante are currently just one point off the bottom of the La Liga table, so if they want to avoid playing in the Segunda Division again next season, they need to turn their fortunes around, and quickly.

As the two teams have been playing in different divisions for the past few seasons, the head to head data for Levante and Bilbao is not exactly recent. However, Athletic Club beat Levante at their last meeting in 2022, as they have done in 15 of their last 22 meetings, with us having to research back as far as 2018 to find a Levante win. Levante are going to have to turn around both their current and historic playing form, if they want to gain some points here.

Athletic Club – Planning to bolster their position in the La Liga table

Athletic Club Bilbao finished 4th in La Liga last season, qualifying them for the Europa League where they reached the semi-final. Unfortunately, this season is not panning out to be quite so successful. After a solid start, Athletic Club’s performances have lacked consistency, and they are currently sitting outside of the UEFA Champions League and Europa League qualification zone.

However, Athletic Club have a positive history against Levante, having won the majority of the last 24 matches they have had against them, and not losing since 2018. No doubt Athletic Club will be seeing this meeting as the ideal opportunity to gain three points and progress into a more favourable position in the La Liga table, to keep their European ambitions alive.

For our Levante UD vs Athletic Club Bilbao prediction, we have studied the form of both sides, along with head-to-head records.

My Prediction for Levante UD vs Athletic Club Bilbao

Given that both teams have everything to play for in this meeting, it would be reasonable to expect that there will be more than one or two goals scored during the course of the game. While Athletic Club are the favourites here, it would be prudent to choose a wager that would still win, should Levante cause an upset in their bid to remain in La Liga. As we can see a good number of goals being scored in this match, our Levante UD vs Athletic Club Bilbao prediction is over 2.5 goals.
