Premier League: Liverpool vs Aston Villa 01/11/2025

Liverpool have fallen into a deep crisis, losing six of their last seven matches and four straight in the Premier League. The team’s defensive issues are well known, but now they also struggle in attack. The luck they had early in the season—when they kept winning with late goals—has completely vanished. As a result, they now sit 7th in the table, seven points off the top.
Aston Villa, level on points with Liverpool, are on a completely different trajectory. After a shaky start to the season and clear scoring problems, they have become one of the league’s form teams. Their improved performances brought wins, and those wins boosted confidence. Villa have recorded four consecutive league victories (the last two against Tottenham away and Manchester City at home) and six wins in their last seven overall, losing only to Go Ahead Eagles away in the Europa League.
Out of form, defensively fragile and with several absences, Liverpool hardly deserve to be such clear favourites. Villa are in better shape, know how to stand up to the big clubs, and look capable of getting a result at Anfield.
