A massive local derby of hatred in Liverpool.

Liverpool have started the season with five straight wins, but none of them came easily. All their winning goals arrived after the 80th minute (four of the five after the 88th), something that cannot happen every time. They have done well in attack, but defensively they look very vulnerable.

Everton continue where they left off last season. With Moyes in charge from the beginning and quality reinforcements added to the squad, they are a side capable of finishing in the top half of the table.

Considering the performance of both teams, and the fatigue of the hosts from Wednesday night’s Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid (from Wednesday night to Saturday midday is not enough recovery time), the 1.45 on a Liverpool win does not reflect the difficulty of this match.

Everton +1.25 has value, as do the over 4.5 cards. Between the two, I’ll ultimately side with the goal scenario. I believe Liverpool’s rock-and-roll style will show again here, and Everton look fully capable of at least contributing to the scoring.
