Champions League Qual.: Malmo – Copenhagen 05/08/2025
Betting on goals
A very crucial match with huge stakes between two teams who, along with Bodo Glimt, are contending for the unofficial title of the best Scandinavian club.
Malmo is having a fairly average season. They are 4th in the league, 10 points behind leaders Mjallby, and also lost the domestic cup final. Their playing style has changed significantly compared to previous years. Now they rely more on their defensive structure. They have the best defense but only the seventh-best attack in their league.
At the moment, Kobenhavn seems to have a slightly higher ceiling in terms of quality, but their season has just started. Malmo will certainly have the advantage of better match fitness. Kobenhavn played quite conservatively in both their previous Champions League qualifiers, beating the weaker Drita from Kosovo with clean scores of 2-0 and 1-0.
The fact that there is a second leg and the overall importance of the match will likely reduce the risks taken. Malmo has the home advantage and better match rhythm, but they lack attacking sharpness. Kobenhavn has kept a clean sheet in four of their five official matches this season.
