Premier League: Nottingham vs Chelsea 18/10/2025

Betting on Goals
After a two-week break, the Premier League returns this weekend as Nottingham Forest host Chelsea, hoping to put an end to their dreadful run of results.
It’s no secret that club owner Evangelos Marinakis is often his own worst enemy — his constant interference in managerial decisions and impulsive choices have further destabilized the team. The sacking of Nuno Espírito Santo didn’t bring the desired effect either, as since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou, the club has failed to taste victory in seven consecutive matches. Media reports are already hinting at another potential managerial change, with Sean Dyche allegedly the leading candidate. It remains to be seen whether Nottingham can find a way to lift themselves out of their current crisis.
On the other hand, Chelsea haven’t been shining either, but their problems are primarily injury-related. Since the start of the season, the team has been plagued by numerous absences that have seriously disrupted their rhythm and consistency. Cole Palmer, the team’s main star, will be sidelined for a few more games due to a groin injury. Colwill and Delap remain out, while Enzo Fernández, Fofana, Reece James, and Andrey Santos are dealing with minor issues but should be in contention for this match.
The current Nottingham Forest side is a shadow of the team that, in the first half of last season, was considered one of the most organized defenses in the league. Now their defensive play looks extremely shaky, almost like science fiction, and if they want to compete on equal terms, they’ll have to find a way to threaten Chelsea’s goal.
They certainly have attacking quality — the only question is whether they can make it count. At least one goal seems like a realistic target.
