OFI started the championship with high ambitions but their performance in the first part of the season was disappointing and they spent a significant period of time around the relegation zone. The arrival of Kontis was the turning point of their campaign.

The improvement was not immediate, but gradually the team began to play according to its potential. In 2026 they have a 4-1-1 record in the league, with their only defeat at Toumba against PAOK and they secured three Cup qualifications against Asteras Tripolis, AEK (away) and Levadiakos (over two legs).

OFI are in excellent form and now well rested since this time they did not have a midweek match. Although they will play behind closed doors, I believe they have a better chance than the odds suggest. Panathinaikos clearly have better individual quality but as a team they struggle, especially when they have the role of favorite and must create. They carry fatigue from Thursday’s match and have the second leg ahead. A difficult situation that creates the conditions to back the home side’s double chance.
