A crucial match in the 4th round of the Champions League group stage between two teams aiming for qualification and in urgent need of points, especially Olympiakos, who will practically play only for the win and the three points. Both sides are strong offensively but show problems in defense. The Greek team’s defensive gaps are obvious, and it seems difficult for them to keep a clean sheet against a team that scored six goals against Napoli.
In 15 total matches this season in all competitions, PSV’s games have produced 68 goals, with nine of their last ten ending with both teams scoring (eight of them also over 2.5 goals). In the Champions League, however, PSV have just one away win in their last eight away matches.
Their previous meetings four years ago in the Europa League ended 2-1 in the Netherlands and 4-2 in Karaiskakis.
We can logically expect a match with many chances at both ends and both teams going for the win, so the combination of both teams to score and over 2.5 goals looks like a solid betting option.
