Greece Basket League: Olympiacos vs Maroussi 17/01/2026

Betting on Team Points
Over the past week, Olympiacos have been playing very good basketball and are slowly starting to resemble the team we have seen in previous seasons. They come into this game after two important EuroLeague victories against Bayern and Partizan, as well as a routine domestic league win over Karditsa, with an average winning margin of as much as 31 points and an impressive 106 points scored per game during that stretch.
Maroussi face what looks like an almost impossible mission on Saturday, as they are locked in a fierce battle to avoid relegation. In their last outing, they recorded a hugely important win against Promitheas, inspired by a fantastic performance from Belarusian center Maksim Salash. Maroussi are a team that prefers a faster pace of play, but that style often comes at a cost defensively, as they currently concede the most points in the entire league.
The visitors will likely be able to offer some resistance to the heavily favored hosts and get close to their usual offensive output, but at the same time they are expected to give up a large number of easy points against one of the best-coordinated teams in Europe. Olympiacos have scored 100 points or more in each of their last three head-to-head meetings with this opponent, and I expect that trend to continue here as well — a fourth consecutive “century.”
