Champions League: Olympiacos vs Pafos 17/09/2025

Betting on Winner and Goals
After four seasons away, Olympiacos are back in the Champions League, a competition where they were once regular participants. This time, however, they face an entirely new format. Alongside this clash, the Greek giants will take on Arsenal, Barcelona, PSV, Real Madrid, Kairat, Bayer Leverkusen, and Ajax. At first glance, several teams stand out as serious contenders for the top spots, but Olympiacos also see their chance to reach the knockout stage, as they will be playing against two debutants in Europe’s elite club competition. Their convincing 5–0 victory over Penseraikos in the domestic league was the perfect prelude to this match, further boosting the mood in the red-and-white camp.
On the other side, their opponents will be Pafos, a club founded just 11 years ago, making their first-ever appearance in the Champions League. The Cypriot side reached the group stage after an impressive qualifying run, eliminating Maccabi Tel Aviv, Dynamo Kyiv, and Red Star Belgrade along the way. The tie against the Serbian champions was especially dramatic, with Brazilian international Yaya becoming the hero after scoring an equalizer in the 89th minute of the return leg.
Still, it’s clear that Olympiacos have far more experience and quality at this level. Their transfer policy in recent years has changed significantly – instead of signing aging veterans and former stars, they are now building a balanced, competitive squad hungry for success. They are expected to impose their style from the first minute, attack aggressively, and try to demoralize the Cypriot debutants with an early goal.
