Panathinaikos is trying through constant changes in its roster to build a team that can compete for the top next season. A lot of money is being spent, but so far this has not been reflected on the pitch. The team relies on sporadic flashes of performance, has done well in the Cup and the Europa League, but overall it is not convincing.

The team still lacks stability. Neither in players, nor in formation and playing characteristics. The Cup of course is its main target this season, as if it manages to qualify it will enter the final as a clear favorite. This is one of the matches it has clearly targeted, and it would not be surprising to see its best version on the field.

PAOK is in excellent form and despite the shock from the loss of its supporters, it appears focused on its goals. The Cup is certainly not its absolute priority at the moment, but the squad management in previous matches shows that in this one it will field the best possible starting eleven, with rested players.

At this stage PAOK is clearly the better team. Both sides have to deal with the Thursday – Sunday – Wednesday schedule, but even there PAOK has an advantage, as on Sunday it gave rest to all its key players. Despite the crucial absence of Konstantelias, it should not be priced as a marginal underdog in this matchup. In the handicap market and at odds above evens, it makes sense to back PAOK on the dnb.
