Europa League: Panathinaikos vs Roma 29/01/2026

1-1
Betting on Goals
Final matchday of the Europa League group stage with a much clearer picture compared to the Champions League.
In Athens, Panathinaikos host Roma at an awkward moment for the team, which is trying to find its way after a series of unconvincing performances and also faces a difficult schedule ahead. It seems a luxury to chase a win for better placement, while they have already secured their presence in the playoffs. Additionally, they have absences due to injuries of players who are not registered on the list but play regularly in the league, and they are essentially left without a striker for this match.
The bookmakers do not seem to respect them much, making the visitors heavy favorites, and I do not blame them.
Roma are currently in the top eight, but in order to stay there and secure direct qualification they must win. Gasperini is building a competitive team that is constantly improving and has high ambitions domestically and in Europe. They will also have some absences and a demanding schedule, but they are a real team and have shown that they can achieve cynical wins.
That is what I expect here, a low tempo match where Roma will find a goal and that might be enough. I will go with a bet on the final result for the team that is clearly superior and with the obvious motivation.
