After four consecutive wins across both competitions they are playing in, Partizan suffered an 85–79 defeat to Olimpia in Milan. Less than 48 hours after that game, the black-and-whites face another serious challenge — a matchup against Romanian side Cluj.

The Romanian team made a very solid impression in their debut ABA League season, but their form has noticeably declined in recent weeks compared to the period up to the end of last year. They have lost five of their last six games, and during the week suffered a painful 101–99 defeat away to Manresa. Despite that, Cluj remain a compact and well-coached team, capable of causing serious problems for any opponent when they find their rhythm.

They are certainly not favourites against Partizan, but they will have certain advantages they will look to exploit against the hosts. This primarily refers to their chemistry, game tempo, as well as having more time to rest and prepare for the game compared to their opponent.

I expect a strong performance from Cluj and a match in which the visitors will, at the very least, remain competitive right until the final buzzer
