Based on the results, Rangers took two relatively easy qualifications against Panathinaikos and Plzen. In reality though, except for the 2nd half at home against Panathinaikos (where the Greeks played for 35 minutes with ten men), one cannot say that they looked superior to their opponents.
In recent years, their quality ceiling has dropped quite a lot, and now that the difficulty level increases, they will need to raise their performance significantly in order to be competitive.
Club Brugge is superior in both quality and experience from matches at this level. At the start of the season, they are obviously not at their best either, but with two wins against Salzburg they showed that they belong at the top level. I expect them to approach the first match relatively cautiously, but I clearly give them the edge to reach victory.
