A matchup with a clear and justified favorite — the better team, and it couldn’t be otherwise.

Rangers are struggling, with a run of defeats in Europe and a very poor domestic form, coming off yet another loss in the League Cup against Celtic. Their squad is average, plagued with several issues, and there’s no sign of quick improvement.

Roma, on the other hand, show the exact opposite image. With Gasperini on the bench, they look much improved this season — they have a clear playing identity and the necessary cynicism to get results. They recently lost unfairly to Milan despite creating many chances and missing a penalty.

Roma urgently need the win, as they currently have just 3 points in the group. They are far superior to the hosts and likely won’t be affected by the away setting. Rangers, moreover, have failed to score in four European matches against Italian teams — and it’s hard to see that changing in this one.
