This season’s Rangers are a very mediocre team. Their performance in both Scotland and Europe shows it clearly. In the Europa League Phase they have 3 losses in 3 matches, with 1-6 total goals and disappointing displays. Even in the weak domestic league they are only 4th, with three wins in ten games, 14 points behind leaders Hearts.

Roma, under Gasperini, look compact, serious, and efficient. In Serie A they sit second in the standings, just one point behind Napoli. In Europe, after two home defeats, they have only three points (from the win in Nice) and urgently need points to stay alive in the standings.

Roma are clearly superior in quality and in much better form. They need the points and with even a decent performance should be close to victory.
