ABA League: Spartak Subotica vs Ilirija 11/01/2026

Betting on the Handicap
Spartak Subotica are going through a serious crisis in form and a run of poor results, and there is increasing talk about a possible dismissal of head coach Vlada Jovanović in order to shake the team up and raise the level of play. In the ABA League, Spartak currently stand at a 6–6 record, and the home defeat against direct rival Bosna has further reduced their chances of finishing the regular season among the top four teams. They also failed to impress in the FIBA Basketball Champions League, where they were eliminated by Greek side Karditsa, despite having home-court advantage.
Ilirija now come to Subotica as competition debutants who have significantly improved their form compared to the start of the season. They were especially boosted by the arrival of former EuroLeague and regional MVP Boban Marjanović, who, despite his age, still represents a huge reinforcement for this level of basketball. The Slovenian team features several very experienced players and is not the type of side that gives up easily, regardless of the opponent’s quality.
I expect the visitors to put up strong resistance in this game and to make life difficult for a host team that has looked far from convincing over the past few weeks.
