Sweden vs Slovenia – Prediction and Odds 18/11/2025

Sweden vs Slovenia – Can Slovenia make the play offs?
Tuesday 18th November 2025 will see Sweden play Slovenia in both teams’ final match of Group B in the qualifying group stages. It is fair to say that this World Cup campaign has been pretty devastating for Sweden with them languishing at the bottom of the table, while Slovenia will be hoping to take a win from this match to stand a chance of overtaking Kosovo in the second spot to earn a place in the play offs and thus keeping their World Cup dream alive a little longer. Both teams could still make the playoffs but are relying on other results to help them out as well. Read on for our Sweden vs Slovenia prediction.
Day: Tuesday, 18 November
 Time: 19:45
 Stadium: Strawberry Arena, Solna
Tournament: World Cup European Qualifiers – Matchday 10
For Sweden, this has been a tumultuous and unsuccessful World Cup qualifying campaign, with their manager Jon Dahl Tomasson dramatically sacked following their crushing defeat at the hands of Kosovo, which left them languishing at the bottom of the table in need of a miracle to reach the playoffs. A win in this match could restore a little dignity for the team. Slovenia have not had a particularly good run in Group B either, but three points here could give them a chance at the play offs, so we are expecting to see them fight hard for the win.
Sweden – Looking to salvage some dignity
Sweden’s end to Group B is going the same way it started – against Slovenia. At their last meeting, they drew 2-2; securing Sweden’s only point so far in this qualifying round. They have subsequently lost twice to Kosovo – 2-0 and 1-0 respectively, which spelled the end for manager Tomasson – and lost 2-0 to Switzerland, who are currently on track to earn automatic qualification to the next stage of the competition. While they don’t stand any hope of making the play offs now, they will at least want to demonstrate that there is some skill left in the team by scoring some goals and hopefully securing a win.
Slovenia – Fighting for a spot in the play offs
Slovenia, on the other hand, can keep their qualification dreams alive by winning this match. They are currently third in the Group B table, but if they can secure three points here, they stand a chance of overtaking Kosovo for a place in the play offs. As previously mentioned, they drew 2-2 in their first match against Sweden. They then went on to lose 3-0 against table toppers Switzerland, then drew 0-0 with Kosovo, and secured a 0-0 draw against Switzerland when they met them for a second time. Slovenia will be desperate to gain three points in this match, while Sweden will be hoping to redeem themselves a little with some points, which is why our Sweden vs Slovenia prediction involves both teams scoring.
Sweden vs Slovenia – Possible lineups
In terms of line ups, without a manager at the present time, it is hard to tell what Sweden’s might look like! Someone new might like to shake up their line up in hopes of breathing new life into the team.
While for Slovenia, they will need to field a strong team if they want to stand a chance of making the play offs.

Prediction Spain vs Slovenia
Given that the last time these teams played each other the match resulted in a draw and their close positions in the Group B table, it would be difficult to predict a match winner, although you would probably get attractive odds on Sweden to win (we wouldn’t recommend putting your money there though, unless you particularly enjoy a risky bet)!
However, both teams are going to want to gain some points here. Sweden will want to prove that they are not the abysmal team that they first appeared, while Slovenia will be looking for a win so that they can at least know they have tried their very best to reach the play offs. That is why our Spain vs Slovenia prediction is for both teams to score. Let’s hope that Sweden don’t prove me wrong with another goalless loss!
If you can find odds on BTTS in the range of 2.20 to 2.50 this will be a good value bet
