Premier League: Tottenham vs West Ham 17/01/2026

Betting on Final Outcome
I’ve mentioned I’m a Spurs fan but, this season, I’m not a ‘let’s bet on Spurs to win’ fan! Certainly not at home, and not really in London derbies, though they have managed to win 3 out of 7 this season (Beating Brentford, Palace and West Ham). It’s still not exactly a great statistic however. They looked clueless again against an admittedly on form team in Aston VIlla, in getting dumped out the cup at the Weekend. They have picked up yet more injuries in that game too and Rodrigo Bentancur is thought to be out for the rest of the season, who will be a big miss in midfield. West Ham look forward to playing Spurs, and ok they might be struggling at the wrong end of the table and looking in dire relegation trouble, but they often produce their very best when facing Tottenham. They have gone 10 games without a win I know and their best player, Lucas Paquetá, looks like he is heading back to Brazil. However they will be giving it 110% in this as it’s one of the biggest games for the fans every season and they have often produced some shock results against Spurs down the years, against the form book. They lost 3-0 at home in the first meeting between the sides. However, I have a sneaking suspicion they are going to have enough fight about them to manage to escape derby day with honours, especially with confidence and morale so low at home for Tottenham currently. Bookmakers seem to be pretty confident that Tottenham will win so I think the value points to backing West Ham to grab something from this one.
