The semifinal brings a clash between Valencia’s fast and confident offense and Real Madrid’s increasingly solid and dominant play, with expectations of a dynamic and high-scoring encounter.
Betting on Points
Valencia and Real Madrid will meet in the first Copa del Rey semifinal and, alongside Barcelona, are the main favorites to lift the trophy.
Valencia reached the semifinals after a routine 95–84 win over Joventut. They created the key gap in the second quarter, winning it 24–11, and then controlled the lead until the final buzzer. Joventut cut the deficit to two possessions early in the fourth quarter, but the “Oranges” quickly responded and restored a double-digit advantage.
Real Madrid had an even easier task, demolishing an out-of-form Unicaja 100–70. Both their offense and defense performed at a high level, but it was their granite defense that truly broke the opponent, allowing just 44 points through three quarters.
Valencia have already shown they know how to beat Real this season, handing them two defeats – in the Super Cup final and in their first EuroLeague meeting. Their preference for a fast tempo is well known, and there is little doubt they will stick to that identity here. Jean Montero and Brancou Badio delivered excellent performances against Joventut and will need to replicate that level to challenge a Real side whose form continues to improve as the season progresses. I expect a high-quality and efficient matchup with plenty of points on both sides.
