Värnamo are virtually one step away from relegation. Last week, they missed a huge chance to get back into the survival race. They were leading 3–2 away at Öster (whom they would have closed to within three points) until the 92nd minute, when they conceded an equalizer. They couldn’t handle the shock of 3–3, pushed forward recklessly in search of a winner, and ended up conceding a fourth in the 95th.

Defense has been their Achilles’ heel since the start of the season, and now, when they desperately need a winning streak, they are forced to take even more risks. In any case, a team with just two wins in 23 league matches being priced as clear favorites is rather paradoxical.

Halmstad are by no means a great team, but lately they’ve been quite competitive. They’re comfortable sitting behind the ball, and against a demoralized opponent that fails to get results even when playing well, they have a good chance of securing a positive outcome.
