The Hammers take on the Magpies this Sunday in a match around the right time to be watched over a nice Sunday dinner. West Ham are currently an absolute mess, they are already 4 points from safety at this early stage and only have a win over fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest to their name this season. They have lost 5 of the last 6 and although they looked a little better last week. But losing to newly promoted Leeds United is not exactly good grounds for thinking they are going to be improving enough to be beating European contenders or staying in this league! The last forward to score for West Ham was Jared Bowen, 4 games ago showing the majority of their struggles. Newcastle are still getting used to the European/Premier League midweek match turnaround. They have struggled in their post-Champions League matches recently. Having said that, they will likely rest a few for this weeks midweek EFL Cup match home to Spurs and will be confident they can see off a poor West Ham side in London on Sunday. Nick Woltemade is their top scorer this season, but Antony Gordon should also find plenty of time and space on the wing to both assist and possibly score himself against a Hammers defence woefully short of confidence.

I am confident West Ham’s problems are going to continue against Newcastle this week, they look all over the place at the moment and I can not see them finding the net. If they do manage to score first they will be in all-out defence mode as well so that might just see them scrape a clean sheet. Back the NO market for both teams to score here and expect the Magpies to fly off with all three points.
